Worlds of Fun Announces Major New Ride for 2014!
"Worlds of Fun in Kansas City, MO announces SteelHawk, a new ride that will take guests to breathtaking new heights! Get ready to take flight as SteelHawk soars 301 feet in the air and spreads its steel wings at a 45-degree angle at a speed of 8 rotations a minute swinging riders for a 60-second flight.

Approximately 100ft taller than Rip Cord, Mamba, and Detonator riders will experience a sense of exhilaration which will mimic the feeling of free flight. SteelHawk will feature 32 two-person swings that provide gravity-defying thrills as riders’ feet dangle at heights never experienced before at Worlds of Fun. On a clear day you can see stunning views across Kansas City. Families can experience the thrill of SteelHawk together, and with its unique LED light display mounted on the arms; SteelHawk is an outstanding nighttime ride.

“After combining Worlds of Fun and Oceans of Fun in 2013, we wanted to come back immediately with a major new ride for our guests. SteelHawk takes riders higher than any other ride currently at Worlds of Fun. SteelHawk will be a spectacular showpiece that will be seen for miles,” says Frank Wilburn, Vice President/General Manager.

SteelHawk will be located in the Americana section of the park across from the Patriot and is themed for the majestic birds-of-prey that hunt the prairies of the Midwest. SteelHawk will make its debut in the spring of 2014 at Worlds of Fun.

While awaiting the arrival of this exciting new addition, there is still time to enjoy all the thrills that Worlds of Fun has to offer. Worlds of Fun is open weekends through September 8 including Labor Day on Monday September 2, 2013 followed by this year’s Halloween Haunt beginning Saturday October 14, 2013. Howl-O-Fest and Halloween Haunt run through October 27, 2013."

I don't dislike Windseeker, I just don't find it thrilling. It's too fast to actually enjoy the view you have, the only Windseeker I can actually see "enjoyable" is Cedar Point's, just for it's location but I still hear a lot of mutual dislikes for it. I find the SkyScreamers MUCH more enjoyable and I just really hated KBF's Windseeker because it was down more than open, so hopefully WoF doesn't have a checkered future with what used yo be ours.

Steelhawk was closed for a bit yesterday due to a failed safety sensor. It apparently left some riders stranded for 15 minutes or so. Thank fully it's back open.

Snoopy Space Buggies – Defy gravity and bounce to the moon and back.
Linus Launcher – Experience the sensation of weightlessness through flight with feet dangling
Snoopy Junction – All aboard! Snoopy the conductor leads kids on a railroad adventure.

“Thrills come in all sizes,” says vice president and general manager Frank Wilburn. “It’s important that we continue to create the best family environment for our guests and what better place to do that than right here at Planet Snoopy where we create memories that last a lifetime.”

Planet Snoopy was added to Worlds of Fun in 2011 and will now feature 21 family style rides at Kansas City’s favorite amusement park. Little ones can take a trip on monster trucks, take to the skies on a forty-foot balloon ride, or hop in a new spinning tug-boat for the whole family. Sing and dance with Peanuts Party in the Park, a show with a special musical appearance by Charlie Brown, Snoopy and the whole Peanuts gang live in Planet Snoopy Plaza!

Season Passes for 2016 are now on sale at the lowest price they will be this year! For only $99, experience Worlds of Fun and Oceans of Fun all summer long including Halloween Haunt. When you purchase your 2016 Season Pass, you get one free visit to Worlds of Fun 2015!
