Great Adventure teases for 2013

Great Adventure just posted a picture of this trunk as a clue to what's new for 2013.

Looks like to me they are building an on-site hotel or resort. When the door to your room closes, the door to the park opens. It's something the park desperately needs, but was hoping for something more thrilling in 2013.

So it's probable that a ride will be closing, due to the door referance. Wasn't it rumored a while back that Bizarro would be taken out and replaced with a new coaster within the next couple of years? So, maybe that's what they're going to do for 2013. I think the top two possibilities for them, considering the room they would have once Bizarro comes out and the coasters they're lacking are a Maverick like coaster, and a winged rider. Winged riders are becoming more and more popular, plus GA is one of the best roller coaster parks in the world, so a winged rider would add to what they already have. And a Maverick like coaster would just make there coaster lineup even better, plus they have almost every kind of ride Cedar Point has other than a terrain hugging launched coaster, and adding that to their arsenal can give Cedar Point a run for it;s money.

Other than adding a new coaster in Bizarros' place, the onl yother possibility would be the giga drop attatched to Kingda Ka that's been rumored, but the door reference in the picture wouldn't make sense for that. So, expect Bizarro to come out, and a new, better coaster to go in.

I agree SFGA has one of the best line-ups in the world and almost as good as Cedar Point. If you're going to compare the two parks, CP has 5 on-site properties, while SFGA has zero. I remember reading that getting a hotel franchise was a priority for SFGA since it doesn't cost them any money to build and get revenue from leasing the land to the property.

I do think SFGA will get a wing-rider sooner rather than later, but don't think they'll give up another coaster before they get it. What did they place on the former Batman and Robin: The Chiller location? I know it was a shuttle coaster, but certainly that space could easily house the wing rider station and queue.

OH - WAIT - Didn't Screamscape report that the drive through safari was going to be converted to a monorail type attraction.

I didn't hear anything about a monorail for Great Adventure. As far as the hotel resort goes, I think that it would be a great idea, and it is a great possibility for the future...

It may not have been a monorail, but the gist of what I read was that personal vehicles wouldn't be allowed next year and some sort of SFGA vehicle would be used. SFGA certainly needs more lodging in closer proximity to the park and believe both could happen in 2013 since the park won't be building the hotel/resort with their own capital.

Those are some big possibilities for next year...I still am not counting out a new coaster, but only time will tell...

Well i Really hope bizarro wont be taken out and i dont think they will! i mean i wanna believe its a hotel but i dont know just seems to obvious... im going tuesday ill chack out if theres any thing interesting going on.

I'm with ya Hershey and hope Bizarro stays as well, cause it's a really good floorless. The ridership issue is a function of the park's layout, since it's off to the side.
