Awesome! I always love to see how the new coasters and rides effect the rankings each year. I'm hoping that Skyrush is voted best new ride of 2012 and is at least in the top 15 best steel coasters, because it certainly deserves it. It will also be interesting how Leviathan ranks being the first B&M Giga!

I agree!!! I rode Skyrush in june, thats a coaster worth winning BEST NEW RIDE!!! I can not wait.

Absolutely, but maybe the thigh trouble before they got new restraints will effect the voting, but hopefully not. If Skyrush doesn't win, then Leviathan should. If Leviathan doesn't win, Lex Luthor; Drop of Doom should win. If not LL, well, like makes no sense!

What's this?!?!? Wild Eagle wins the best new ride of 2012 when the park who owns the ride is hosting the Golden Ticket Awards for 2012?!?!? You don't say!

But seriously, that's such bull. Wild Eagle is like 5th, but because Wild Eagle is in the hosts' park, we have that as our best of 2012. And it's not just that Skyrush didn't win, but that all the others that are better lost to it as well! Ugh, well still not a big deal, the world pretty much knows that Wild Eagle isn't the greatest anyway, and every other award given was pretty much accurate, so there's not much room to complain.

Its a big deal to me i mean come on how did skyrush place FIFTH!!! my word i mean i figured theyed place at least second to leviathan but come on! Im assuming that its because of the seats that it got such a low rating cause with everybody coming off the ride saying "that was so painful etc" thats why i think.

Yeah, well I didn't know it placed fifth. Now that I know that, I think this year was a complete hoax! Seriously, the biased towards Wild Eagle won it, I could understand. But fifth?!?!?!? Uhh, gives me a headache. And also, it ranked 42nd in the top 50 steel coasters...makes no sense!

That's why I prefer Mitch's poll Intamin, but also keep in mind Wild Eagle was the first wing-rider to open here in the States. It's also the only one with a vertical loop, and is in a great location. Having the awards in the host park didn't hurt either.

I agree, even though Mitchs' poll isn't completely accurate, it's way better than amusement today. This past year (and even in years that have passed), Phantoms' Revenge has done better than Intimidator 305...uh, yeah, that makes sense. But anyway, I'm not dissing the ride, it looks fantastic, and it probably the most unique of the winged riders. But still, I don't think it should be close to the top spot. I understand why it is, but I just hate that it is.

Mitch didn't do a steel poll in 2011 for some reason, but he did do one for 2010 the year I305 opened and it came 3rd in the world, behind Bizarro and Gforce. Phantom's Revenge came in at 25, which I personally think is high, but that me.
