While it's still listed as "for sale", Kathy indicated it's going to be sold for scrap.

That's correct. Aycock (the iron worker's company that's deconstructing the ride) is doing whatever they do to scrap steel. Recycling of some sorts, I assume.

Too bad, they should try to sell it.

I'm actually not going to miss Roller Soaker at all. I'm actually glas they're adding this soak area, because the little play area below Roller Soaker was the only thing I would miss. Now that we're getting a new water play area with even MORE water, I think that they really hit a home run with that.

But anyway, it's interessting to see the track being taken down, and I actually think the area looks better without the track, and it certainly will look marvelous once all of Roller Soaker is gone. Thanks for the update Tom!

Also, I agree that they should try to sell it, but then again, I'm not so sure that many parks would buy it.

While I appreciate the kind words Intamin, the real thanks should be directed to Brandon and Walt. They did all the leg work. I just posted and summarized their time at the park.

I'm in Boston, they are in PA, we try to divide and conquer as a team to balance the work load and keeping the site current and interesting.

Roller Soaker Deconstruction Progresses

Unread postby BrandonStrouphauer » Tue Jan 01, 2013 5:31 pm

Roller Soaker's deconstruction has progressed, with more supports and track down. It appears as about just under half the ride is down at this point. Lets take a look!

There used to be all track in the air here.

Hi! I'm newly registered but have been watching the feeds.

As for the new water attractions, do we know when they will be officially announced and what slides we may be seeing added to Coastline Plunge?

Welcome to ALT "SRunner14"! There's no word yet on whether or not they are adding anything else to the current Roller Soaker area other than the Water Play area they have planned for 2013, and there's no word on what will be added on to the Coastline Plunge or how they will do it. Sooner rather than later, I'm sure we'll know, and these projects will probably be finalized and added in 2014 by the latest.

Thank you for the update Brandon, that area sure looks much different with what the've removed so far...
