Hershey Entertainment and Resorts has a new CEO, and in the article there were a few interesting comments made...

"For starters, Simpson said in the near future visitors to Hersheypark can expect updates to the park’s water rides."

"This summer, roughly 2.5 million visitors entered Hersheypark’s gates, many to ride the latest thrill ride, the Skyrush roller coaster.
That number is on par with previous years, Simpson said, although he admits they expected a bit more of a boost from the launch of Skyrush. Three weeks of high heat in July didn’t bode well for business but visitors flooded the park in August, he said."

Here is a link to the entire article, it's worth reading:

Interesting development. Thanks for sharing.

I think this confirms we'll see the Boardwalk getting something new in 2014, probably in the space of RS.

Everyone thought i was bluffing... I realize I got in trouble for my banner pic on Facebook but It's nothing more than my windows shut down screen, now it seems like it was more of a prediction... I didn't try it... I was just being funny... I'm getting good with the predictions... lol, I would pay anything to see Soaker leave for good. It's a waste of space.

I think it's more than safe to say that soaker's days are numbered. Between the website listing it for sale and the new CEO saying new attractions for the Boardwalk are a high priority. I think we'll see your prediction come true in 2014.

I think 2013 will be Soaker's last operating year. 2014 we'll see a Boardwalk addition. I HIGHLY doubt they would announce something THIS late. Season Pass sales would be blown. Not to mention advertising to all the guests in August (busiest month), September, October, November, and December. They wouldn't get their full bang for their buck (nowhere near).

I think you're right Brandon. It's too late in the year for Hershey to really maximize their marketing for a new ride. I also think they may spend next summer re-marketing Rushy.

Skyrush Winter Maintenance Update!

Unread postby wizzard33 » Thu Dec 06, 2012 8:13 pm

Hey guys! Maintenance has begun on Skyrush, and here is an update on the trains coming apart! :D

For starters....

Skyrush's station.

Here, you can see the Skyrush restraints wrapped up.....

Here, you can see the Skyrush restraints wrapped up in what appears to be plastic of some sorts.....

There were some reports of a footer poured near the station, after visiting the park on Sunday night, and from outside the park today, we cannot see a footer. Not saying there isn't one, just that after looking for over 30 minutes, we cannot see one with the zoom lens or the naked eye.

Here, you can see the creek has been drained. Likely for inspections.

You can clearly see these trains were nearly stripped 100%!

And to end the update....
